Wine tourism & cycle tourism

To the rhythm of the vines.
At your own pace.

Staying at Palanquey means being able to fully appreciate the landscapes of Saint-Émilion and Castillon: a visit to the winery, a bike ride, then the pleasure of returning to your room and the spa.

Discover the vineyards

Cellar visits.
Meet the winemakers.

The Saint-Émilion area offers a wide variety of estates to explore. Step into a cellar, learn about the winemaking process and taste with the people who make the wine: the landscape takes on new meaning. Our concierge can help organise visits to suit your interests; please tell us your preferred language and travel dates.

The Palanquey concierge service

The right doors.
At the right time.

A cellar tour, a visit to a winery, a tasting or a day among the vines: our concierge can help you plan your discoveries. Share your interests with the team and we will work with you to arrange visits, subject to each estate’s availability.

Our idea for the day

A visit in the morning.
Time to enjoy the return.

Visit an estate in the morning, leave time for lunch, then return to Palanquey for a late afternoon by the water. Discovering wine is about more than tasting: landscapes, craft and conversation are part of the journey too.

Explore by bike

Take the small roads.
Change your point of view.

Cycling reveals the landscape from another perspective. The tourist office and Gironde Tourisme publish circular routes around Saint-Émilion: choose one to suit the distance, terrain, weather and your experience. On foot or by bike, stay on authorised routes; private land and paths require the owner’s permission. Starting points are those shown in the official route guides. Travel from Palanquey must be arranged separately.

Before you arrive

Your questions.
Peace of mind.

Can we find a bike for the stay?

The previous Palanquey website lists mountain bikes and electric bikes available by reservation. Before planning your ride, check equipment availability, arrangements and any charges directly with the team.

Can I bring my own bike?

Contact Palanquey about storage, charging or maintenance requirements. This journal does not guarantee secure bike storage, a workshop or a cycling accreditation.

Are wine tours included in the overnight stay?

No: the routes presented here are suggestions. Visits, tastings, bikes and treatments can be booked separately, according to the conditions of their providers.

How to combine cycling and wine tourism?

You can dedicate an outing to the landscapes and reserve the tasting for another time. Organize your trips so that you do not return to cycling after consuming alcohol.
